Every encounter in life, whether pleasant or unpleasant is an opportunity. It's an opportunity for growth and change and an opportunity to examine your choices. Sometimes we get in our own way when the ego decides that it wants whatever it wants when it wants it. Then you end up with misalignment of purpose. When you have that, you have just impeded forward progress.

Does your car drive more smoothly when your front end is aligned or not?

So how do we get out of our own way? Part of it is by being able to see a bigger picture even when you only want to see the 5 x 7 glossy photo with your smiling self in the center of it. Part of it is being able to bring yourself into the moment - into the now - and fully being able to enjoy that moment. That opens up gratitude and gratitude opens up a whole energy pathway to the heavens. Part of it is being willing to come off your ego position whatever it is, for the purposes of perhaps seeing how you get in your own way.

I'm often asked, "Do I have to balance my chakras?" Well, yes, if you want to open an energy flow to the things you desire. Do you have to brush your teeth? Not if you're ok with having cavities.

Do you have to be grateful? Yes, if you want to open a flow bringing in the things you desire.

Do you have to align with your purpose? Yes, if you want to open a flow to bringing in the things you desire.

Do you have to be wiling to get out of your stubborn patterns and ego positions? Yes, if you want to move forward in harmony and in accordance with your purpose.

Where the ego can lead us astray is when we get very attached to outcomes, when we stubbornly believe that the way we've always done things  is the best way, even if it isn't.

You'll know when you're in alignment when things in your life begin to become synchronicitous. It's not that life is meant to be a joyride filled only with smooth paved roads. If it was, we wouldn't really learn anything here. But when things begin to show up in synchronicity, you'll know. And all of this definitely makes for a smoother ride.
