Self-Sabotage
Lately I have come upon more and more instances of people who sabotage themselves without even realizing it. One recent example: I belong to a lot of social networking sites. On one of these sites a woman was messaging people every day to please, please, help her and buy her product. I took a look at this product and found it to be absolutely wonderful! It was beautifully packaged and presented and the price point was great! There was no reason why this item should not be selling and I wondered what the problem could be.
I wrote to the person telling her that I would like to put her product in my online store and also offer it in my one of my gift baskets.
I received no answer to this e mail. A little while later I wrote again. Same thing. No answer. But her e mails pleading for help kept on coming. I wrote a third time, because I really liked this product and I'm going to include a similar product from someone, even if it isn't her. I indicated how perplexed I was by her non-response.
The answer I finally received was stunning! She replied that she had no money to advertise at all and that she was barely making ends meet as it was. Huh? I wasn't asking her to advertise. I was trying to partner with her. I was offering to BUY her product, inventory it, sell it, promote it. Isn't that what she said she wanted? Isn't that the scenario she was trying to create?
I have many more of these examples as of late, but truly the point is that our perceptions definitely shape the course of our lives. By our perceptions and remaining stuck in "what we think we know" and "what we think we see" we can definitely get in our own way.
I wondered what this person saw when they looked at my site. Slick ads? Don't have any. A predator? I like to think I help people move forward. I actually don't know the answer. What I do know is that I am astounded by how many ways we halt our forward progress when we don't even realize that our pleas for help, our prayers, our supplications, our attempts at creating and co-creating, are ALWAYS answered.
When we are so attached to our own points of view or perceptions and perspectives how can we see the truth of that? Do we prefer to remain victims because this is a more familiar pattern?
We have the ability to create and co-create our lives in any way we desire. But we can't do it through an illusory fog. Through that fog we truly can't see anything even if it lands on our head and offers to give us what we said we wanted.
